Sad Day on the Ranch

First of all, I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter. I hope you all had a blessed day. We have spent most of our day sittin' in the house. We had a tragic evening last night and just needed some quiet time. I really hate to be a debbie downer on the holiday but this is what is going on here. I just need to put it out there. So here it goes.......

Lil Man passed away yesterday. It was a freak deal and we are stunned. The husband is devastated and guilt ridden since he was involved in the incident. He states he "killed my dog." But I know it was an accident and find no fault in the events that happened. He said I could hate him if I wanted but I don't. Things happen for unknown reasons and the only thing I can guess is that the Lord needed a good dog this Easter weekend.

Y'all have watched him grow these past four months and I thought I owed it to you to let you know. This was the very last picture I took of him. How ironic, huh?

I am so sad and shocked to read the news about Lil' Man. You and Hubby will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hubby needs not to be hard on himself. As hard as is, things happen for a reason. You had a few wonderful months with him, and he knew he was truly loved.Hugs to you both.

What sad news. That's the reality of ranch life. With so many different kinds of animals and humans all co-existing, sometimes, accidents happen. I liked how you said it, the Lord needed a good dog on Easter weekend. His romps in heaven will be as joyful as his romps on the ranch.
Hang in there. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your hubby!!

Your last picture of him with the wooden cross, makes my heart ache for you. It does show so much irony. Sending hugs, prayers your way. Hope you are doing okay through this sad time.

I am heartbroken for you both. I saw on my reader you had two posts and my first thought was that you might have pictures of Lil Man. My thoughts are with you.

Oh Kit...I am so sorry for you and your hubs... When the pups get old and leave us it's bad enough, but when they are youngsters, healthy and all, and an accident happens it is just devastating. And from the looks of that gorgeous photo of him sniffing at the cross, he found his way home.

You might find some solace in this site:

But you may need to take some Kleenex with you if you go read the poem.

My wife and I are just back from a week in Arkansas: our grandson was born 4/13 at 7:52am...
8lbs 13.7oz !

I can't believe all that happened in one week!!!

Prayers for you, your husband, the four-leggeds and winged ones at your place and including the fire swept places all over Texas.

The family farm and ranch in Jack county did not sustain any damage although 25,000+ acres burned all around us. Many losses to friends ranches...

Our Nikki (beagle/dachshund) died in my arms from congestive heart failure last Sept... I think she and Lil Man will be good friends.

Respectfully,
