It was the most unorganized, poorly ran futurity I had ever witnessed. It was awful. Plus around 8p, I got a horrendous headache. I laid in the truck for several hours before and after Stubby bucked.
But there were some silver linings to the crappy event. I got to hang out with this cutie patootie pup named Ace.
Isn't he just adorable. A good friend of ours had him and let me watch him thru-out the event. I just loved it. He told me whenever I want a pup to let him know, he always had one for me. I just had to say when. He lost his main dog last week as well. So he knew what we were goin thru regarding Lil Man.
Oh, and the other silver lining.....
Stubby won SECOND place!!
He did awesome! Especially since he sat out in a pen for hours upon hours until after midnight to buck. We are so proud of him.
Here's a look at how he won...

and cute liittle pup.....so are you looking to get another puppy!?!?!?!?
How awesome ! What a cute pupper. Be careful those puppy eyes and puppy breath are the devil.
They suuuuuuuuuuuck you in.
WOW! That's some bucker you've got there! Now I've just got to ask... Where did the name Stubby come from?
That was my nickname for the ex, but there was a darn good reason for it! (his amputated finger, folks!)
What breed is the pup? He looks like an Australian Cattle Dog - one of my favorites. ;-)
There's nuthin' sweeter than puppy breath IMO...*sigh*
Congrats on Stubby! Woohoo! Bummer about you getting a headache! (I get migraines ) I love Heelers!
Stubby was looking FINE all the way through!
Maybe when you're heart's ready you'll be ready for another pup. That one sure looks like a contender. Herding dogs are a personal favorite of mine. I think I've had nearly every kind.
Stubby looks great there! He's future is looking bright! What a long day. Geesh! I hope you got to sleep in this morning!?? ;)
I get migraines, I hate headaches, so I feel your pain!
That pup is sure cute! Reminds me of one of Trainwreck's dogs!
Sorry that the futurity lasted so long... but yay to Stubby for coming in 2nd!!!
That puppy is adorable. When I was volunteering for the humane socity, we had some puppies of his breed (I forget what they're called right now) come in. They were so cute with the prettiest eyes!
Well done Stubby!
Great blog!
I am following several of the same Twitter's you are following.
Glad to have found you!
WOW that is a bucker! Good job Stubby. Oh puppies, yes they are cute. So hard to leave alone. I have decided I want a fat lazy, non moving dog next time around! I figure they will live longer. Maybe one of those marble ones? My heart can't take it. I know yours is all cracked too. ((hugs)) Glad your bull did well. Hopoe your headache is gone, you need me to send you some tylenol?he he
Congrats, way to go Stubby! He looks great!
Love Ace!
The church event~rained out all the arena events, but they still had the vendors, music, auction, children activities, trick riding demo, all in all a great day and I was surprised at the turn out with the weather!
Once again Stubby ROCKS!!!! And the Patootie pup is just plain adorable..:-)
Sounds like a reall busy day. What a cute Pup! Very fuzzy and very cute, is he a blue heeler?
Way to go Stubby!!! And I love the pup. Love to know the breed.
Girl, my husband would love to have a day like that. I won't even tell him about it!! :) Congrats Stubby! Way to show 'em how it's done! I love Stubby!! He is a neat bull. I love how he goes after the rope when it hits the ground. Aggressive little bugger!!
Came across your blog and the little heeler pup just made me smile! Sounds like we all hate dealing with rain on competition day - but that's just the way it works in the Spring... good post!
What a cut blue heeler pup. We have an almost five year old blue heeler and just got a seven week old blue heeler pup. They are great dogs.
Oops! I meant cute. Not cut! :)
Crikey! Look at him go! Thanks for taking and sharing videos!!!
I just got a chance to watch the video. Stubby looks awesome!!
