Since the demise of the last two, I had put out some old over-sized couch pillows. They had been out in the barn so I thought they would serve the same purpose as the doggie beds. Well, they lasted all of maybe three days.
I saw Tractor Supply had 'em on sale again for $7.99. I mentioned it to the Husband. He gave me a glare. Guess he's tired of helping me clean the yard. I did throw out some old towels for them to lay on. At least if they play tug a war with them, they don't explode everywhere!
**Update on Foxy, the last dog that showed up. We found out that she belonged to a family down the road. We took her home today. If anyone donated to the Wayward Dog would like a refund since she's been returned, let me know. I will send it back ASAP.**

Ahahah darn dogs. I say spray the beds with hot sauce.
we have the same problem--although they dont make beds big enough for my dogs, I have used papazan cushions before. They eventually eat them though.
We have one of those beds that are kind of like hammocks for them--Kuranda it is called. They cant eat that and love it. But PRICEY
My little dog used to chew up her and her sisters bed all the time. I started gettin mine at Tractor supply too because they always have some for 8 or 9 bucks. She turned one and then stopped. Maybe yours will too when they hit that age.
Yep, they quit eventually. Give them an old lead rope knotted at the ends for now and show them tug of war. That ought to help salvage what's left, lol. You poor thing, having to pick up all that fluff!! :)
Looks like my Shredder has been there! So glad Foxy found her home ! I wonder if saddle pads would be "victimised" as quickly
Straw. Just straw.
I'll bet the Husband could make something like this

from PVC (or iron pipe!) then you can secure it to the porch too *snicker*
Straw. Just plain ol' straw. We made a frame from pine 2x6's, placed it on the porch and filled it with straw. We only had to sweep it up occasionally.
I'm glad that the owners found Foxy... that means more room for the next wander-in-er !
I feel your pain, Kit! My little puggy is a killer, too. He maims his babies unmercifully..starts with taking off thier heads then cleans out their innards. Leaving me to pick up the peices of cotton stuffing before ...he eats it! Then when there's just a shell of the once adorable stuffed friend ..he's sorry and he lays around and hugs that little bit of limp cloth and just sucks on it ..trying unsuccessfully..to bring it back to life. So I give in and get him another unsuspecting pal! When will it end???
You gotta be saying when is this going to end!! It will. I have come home to unexpected snow several times and it's not fun to be picking up the mess. They are like the kids when you are gone they get in all sorts of trouble. When it little things I mix alum and water and spray it on but you sure can't do it on their beds!
Thanks for your reply.
My son-nlaw brought home a 2yr old great dane such a lovely wonderful dosel creature. We went to leave for work one day and she was so peaceful sleeping there in the sitting room we just left her there with the other tribe of dogs. When we got home one of the chairs was tipped over with basically just the frame left and there on the floor she was peacefully sleeping on her newly made white fluffy nest. That reminds me my daughter still owes me a chair!
We became firm believers in the kennel.
I think you should keep the wayward dog fund button up. You already have one and obviously word is out bout you...
love to you all
Oh I am so glad she got back home!! I bet they were so happyyou took such good care of her!! And oh those poor doggie beds!!
Massive chew toys!
okay....right after I made that comment....I came into the living room and I found Clarice destroying a blanket.
Cute! My dog, and the neighbors dog like to sleep on my wicker furniture on the porch! So far the cushions have stayed in place, but my girl Maggie Mae like to pull her blanket out in the yard! Haven't figured out why yet. LOL
Glad Foxy found her home....as long as it's a good one.
I was at one of those fair trade coffee shops and they are going to give me six very large empty burlap coffee bean bags. I'm thinking they might work out well for dog bed covers. Will let you know.
(catching up again LOL)
Oh MY they really do tear them to shreds LOL!!! I mean really not funny for you but I bet they have fun doing it!!! I am thinking they need steel beds LOL ;)
