Anyone Got a Boat?

We got some major rain on Monday night into Tuesday.  So much rain that we couldn't get to town!  All routes out from our house were under water.  


Around 11:30am, we walked down to the little bridge right by the house.  The water had already went DOWN a lot.

We worked some cattle yesterday afternoon at a friend's arena.  After we were done, some guys showed up to get on practice bulls.  Well you know I had my camera with me.  So for your viewing pleasure....

So this last bull used to belong to us.  We got him from another breeder.  He had quite the attitude so we sold him.  But he did let the kid live. ;)

Man, I've missed photographing bulls.  It's been awhile.  But it's like riding a bike, you never forget.

March Mutt Makeover-Trixie

Saturday I did my monthly mutt makeover at the studio.  Went up to the shelter and picked up Trixie.  We took a bath at the house and then pictures at the studio.  Here she was when we arrived for the shoot.

She needed to stretch her legs after spending days in a small cage.  Isn't she just too cute.  Quite the little spunky scruffy!

But she did great with the pictures.

Isn't she too cute!  Fingers crossed she finds a forever home.

Wordless Wednesday-Life without a Finger

Newest Baby

Found a new baby in the pasture when I got home from work on Friday.  It was a good birthday present for the Husband.  On Sunday, I tried gettin' some pictures.  First time momma was very protective.  Most of the pictures were action shots as they ran crazy.

We got more good news over the weekend.  A young bull we raised was bought at the Backseat Buckers sale for $30K!  We sold him last year and are so happy to see he is doing well.  He'll be in competition throughout the year with the Backseat Buckers program.  I'll keep ya updated on his progress!

A Year Ago

I brought this little girl home with me (of course without asking the Husband!).

Can you believe how much she has grown in a year!?

She's my girl that's for sure.  But she's also Diesel's best friend.

I have no idea her genetics.  The Husband swears I brought home a Great Dane! ha! Maybe one day I will do a DNA test on her like I did with Diesel.  It would be interesting to see what came back.

She has gone with me to the studio.  But she's very timid outside of the ranch.  Doesn't like being out and about especially without her big brother!

On a side note, several asked if I had quit my job once I opened my studio.  Nope, still working my regular job.  I just schedule pictures either after work during the week or on the weekends.  I had to buy a day planner yesterday to keep up with everything.  I have a fear that I'm going to forget a session!!

I've Been Scolded

Yes, that's right, scolded.  I saw a friend today when I went back to my favorite town in the whole wide world and she advised me that every morning she checks my blog and every morning it's the same.  I needed to UPDATE it.  So this is for my dear friend and what few others are out there because I don't know if anyone else even checks it anymore.  


So we have new babies.  Found these three at the lease last weekend.  LOVE this time of year!

The kids are still monsters!  Penelope had her first birthday at the end of January.  

I started taking pictures at my studio.  Still can't believe I have a photography business!

Started a new project to continue to fund cattle dog spay/neuter surgeries.  My plans are to have a Cattle Dogs of Central Texas calendar for 2013.  I put out a call for local cattle dogs to shoot for the calendar.  Had a great response!  Now to get sponsors to pay for the calendars printing.  Then all the sales of the calendar will go directly into a fund to pay for the surgeries.  Fingers crossed it all comes together.


And guess who's birthday is tomorrow!  The Husband!
