Now that I've shown you Stubby, I'll share some of my pictures. Of course, I was up in the stands trying to take pictures. I had to get on the top row in order to see over the arena panels. Then they had these stupid poles right in my way! Geez, don't they know I need good photography space! So between the panels and the poles and the guy in the cowboy hat in front of me, I managed to get a few good ones. I'm always up for a challenge.
A lot of the high ranking bullriders were there this weekend. If you watch the PBR, you will recognize their names: Valdiron de Oliviera, Renato Nunes, McKennon Wimberly, Ryan McConnell, Pistol Robinson, Caleb Sanderson, Pete Farley and so on.
Here are a few of the pics...
Renato
McKennon
Valdiron
Now some of the wrecks, which I like better (bad, I know!)...
How 'bout a bull hug...
Look at his leg over his arm...
But this is my favorite. This guy had perfect form yet the bull is two feet away!
I have a few more if you want to look at them. You can see them HERE.

So, I'm sitting here reading your post with my 4 and 5 year olds and they are loving the photos! Especially since we just finished a little educational conversation on cowboys and indians.
They have been to a rodeo but it's been a couple of years and they don't remember. I guess it's time to take them again. I LOVE to watch the bull riding!
HA! I used to watch the Mesquite Championship Rodeo every single Sunday on TNN when I was a kid. Gosh I had such a crush on Tuff back then! And I loved watching Don Gay do the commentating! I haven't been to a rodeo in years, but I was always in love with the steer wrestlers (cause they were always big guys) and the pickup men. Of course I wound up disgustingly happily married to a little bitty fella......LOL
Those are great. Spills are always better IMO
Great shots ! Its amazing what those guys will put themselves through!
GREAT shots!!! I'm still LMAO over that last one!!!
Great Shots Kit!
Awesome pictures even with having to fight the cowboy hat and the pole;)
Super shots! I like the patience in the gray horse in the background just waiting for his job to start!
Wow - those shots are amazing! Love the action. And how on earth do they stay on?
That last one is awesome. Wonder what he was thinking.
I used to be (mmm is that really past tense) so scared of rodeo bulls (I watched one jump over the rail and get into the bleaches, not 20 feet from me, once at an indoor event) I always sat where I could get out of the stands fast or I'd go for to the concession till the bull riding was over or at least stand by the door. I used to go to the washroom till I heard the story of the bull who got out and ended up in ladies out door washrooms at some rodeo.
I'm beginning to think that was always some premonition of mine about how I'm going to leave this life but my cowboy's just gonna ride out some day without me and not come back. How that for positive thinking? Man, I must be getting old.
I just love all your bullridin' pics! They are GREAT!
You're just getting better and better at this rodeo photography!!
OMG - crazy, crazy, crazy. Did I say crazy?
