Lovin' Me Some Texas Longhorns

The husband lets me have my longhorns but he doesn't let me keep their horns long.  He chops them back so they are easier to work.  So when I come across ones that have beautiful horns like this, I LOVE it!

Longhorns are my favorites, smart cattle. Those are some big horns, bigger than any we ever had. The second picture looks almost identical to our boss cow.

They are stunning! We had one that lived on the road to our boarding stable for awhile- he was ok at first, but then he got kinda mean and would charge your car and try to hook the car with those horns! They weren't as impressive in size as those in your photos, but they could make a nasty rut in your paint!

My BGF has Longhorn cattle, we just sold one at auction that had horns like the red/white 2nd last one. The black last one has horns like her cow O.N.E (registered name Odds N Ends- we call her o-nay) Cow #2 white w/red splotches has horns like my favorite - Daisy, she is the prettiest faced cow and her red coat with white dots and spots is so pretty. I like her cows....

I've always loved the Longhorns. We don't see them very often out here in CA. Love your photos:)

Awesome, I love the longhorns also, if we had the right kind of climate and the hubby would let me, I would raise them myself!

Wow, those are some beautiful cows. My husband loves longhorns too, he'd love to have just one as a pet.

A rancher nearby has longhorns (CA) and it's so nice to drive by when the grasses are tall. All you can see is their horns when they're laying down. If the road wasn't so busy, I'd love to take some pictures.

Such a wonderful shot of history, they are almost as ancient as the buffalo.

We had Texas Longhorns at one time, they are so cool looking! I think out of your photos, my absolute fave is the 1st one. How the heck would you load her into a stock trailer?? :)

There is, I think, a certain mystique about Longhorns... at least to anyone raised in Oklahoma and Texas with any kind of attachment to the old West. That first photo, that rack on that Longhorn is incredible... well, actually, the horns on all of them are beautiful but the first one is so unusual. Thanks for sharing these photos. I will come back to them again and again.
