The Sculpture Ranch

On our drive to the B&B, we noticed a very cool metal longhorn.  I mentioned to the husband that I wanted to stop on the way home and take pictures.  So on Sunday, we found it and pulled over.

Cool, huh!  There were a few other "things" by it and a sign that read "Sculpture Ranch, 5 miles".  What the heck, right!  The husband and I head down the country road for what seemed like 20 miles.

Finally made it to the "ranch".  As we drove thru, there were all kinds of strange, abstract sculptures.  Stuff the husband and I do not get or understand.  I told the husband the cool stuff by the main road was just a ruse to get people in the boonies to murder them!  He got on to me for saying that while we were in the middle of nowhere!

The stuff was really weird.  But I finally saw this one.

Jumped out of the truck just long enough to get a few pics.  Got my pictures and yelled at the husband to "Drive!"  hehe

There were signs stating you "must" register at the main office after entering the "ranch", however, we decided we didn't want to leave any evidence we were there.  We were rebels and turned around and left.  It was a strange place.  Maybe if we were a little more cultured, we wouldn't have been as freaked out.

Pretty cool! We have some cool similar things here in our town--one big horse and used to be a bull on the court house lawn but people complained so it was sold to a private party. Who was subsequently murdered by one of my clients but that is neither here nor there of course

The ones you got pictures of are really cool, wish I had a talent like that. I'm glad you took the detour even if it was weird, we all should take time for more detours in life.

I am NOT an abstract thinker. It must be realistic or it goes over my head. I'm ok with that. You are not alone.

The bulls look great.

I also don't get the "feel" of the abstract art.....perhaps I could get my goats to walk around in paint and then on paper and get rich? That said, that longhorn was purty danged cool!

Cool stuff for sure!! ... but didn't Stephen King write something along these lines in one of his scary-a** books? Just kiddin'... I think I would have turned around without registering too - after checking it all out.
