Spring in a Box Anyone?

Being today is the first day of Spring (yea! hallelujah! woohoo!), I thought let's spread some Spring joy.  I know people are still dealing with snow, cold temps and dreary days.  So I want to send you some Spring in a box.

I did this giveaway last year and really enjoyed it.  I select different items I think are "spring-like" and ship them to ya.  Last year it went all the way to Michigan to DVM's Wife.  Man, her family's lives have changed so much since this time last year.  If you don't know Amy and the struggles her family are going thru right now, go visit.  They are amazing people and could always use an extra prayer.

So are ya interested?  To enter, just leave me a comment on why you love Spring.  Deadline will be Monday, March 22 at 6pm Central.

You bet I luv spring! I luv spring because it brings about a change - a change in seasons brings a new start to many things! Spring means animal babies :) It is the start of some things green... can mean that love is in the air... and my favorite thing - on a really really nice spring day... shorts on soaking up the sun sitting in my lawn chair with my family around (that includes my animal family too)!!!

Boring, huh? But that's what spring is all about to me.

I love spring cause I can get off my treadmill and hit the road running. Nothing like an early morning run in the fresh air to start the day out right.

Spring has started here; the trees are budding, perennials are coming up, horses are shedding.... that's the part I don't like... Instead of putting my name in , can you put in Lisa from Laughing Orca, she sure could use some spring cheer!

Spring means it will soon be time for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon, Washington. Being there and seeing acres and acres of tulips and daffodils against a Cascade Mountain backdrop is truly awe-inspiring! This year our spring started early and the daffodils are in full bloom with the tulips hot on their heels!

Spring? What's Spring? We still have a foot of snow on the ground and freezing temps at night.

Give us another month (or six weeks) and then we'll have spring!!

Love the picture of the sunflower.

(word verification: sunmate :) )

Everything comes to life again! New blooms, smells, colors. Freshness. Our with the old, in with the new. Sun on our necks and wind in our hair. Trails are open. Galloping! And after 6 months of winter, well deservied!

I love spring because....It's when Bar Hoppin Bob makes the slow and painful transformation from old looking plow horse to sleak and sexy show pony. Woohooo show season starts for me next Thursday.

Ahhh spring! I love spring because it means "home" to me. We're heading there (CA) in just 3 weeks and 2 days, and I can't wait to see the daffodils, smell the sweet smell of earth warming up and watch the buds breaking out on the trees!!
Here in Oz, it never feels like real springtime to me, because dammit... it's at the wrong time of year!*sigh*

Ah Spring! Birds singing, warm sunshine on my face, Peonies poking up through the ground, car windows down, music cranked up. Love me some Spring!

It is snowing here right now! It's Texas man! WTH?

And...

I love spring because of hydrangeas, calves, foals and green. I love spring because it is trail riding weather. I love spring because my husband trades the felt for the straw... I love the straw. It makes me weak in the knees. Actually, him in the straw makes me weak in the knees. But, I ramble...

My favorite part of spring? The sun and the warmth it brings. And the green which represents new life. I think spring is definitely my favorite season.

OK, so I'm in.. what is spring. yes, it's all the great things above.. but you know what it is here... muddy boots, finding the manure pile not covered with snow.. LOTS of grooming of horses, (who just have to roll in all that mud)... black flies...planting peas (because they can stand the cold).. the sun setting at 7:00 instead of 4:00, cleaning tack that has sat all winter, re arranging the hay loft for the idea of new hay...looking for fresh eggs because the chickens are laying again.. the list goes on and on, but I don't want to take up too much space... happy spring!!!!

The best thing about spring is that first warm, cozy day. It's that first day that I walk out of the house in the morning and can FEEL the sun warming me up.

Right now we're working on walking out of the house without three sweatshirts and a coat on...but spring WILL get here! :)

Lovin' - needin' the sunshine that Spring brings. Although it does bring with it melted snow which brings MUD. I'd like to blame all the mud that gets tracked in the house on the dog but I really think it's the 4 boys I live with. HELP - lol

Fresh air in the house and outside, green grass and being able to watch the animals that are happy because they got to be let out and of course the start of gardening!

As a Texas girl who recently moved to Washington, I am especially lovin' spring because I can get outside and start riding the horses again! Missing the Texas bluebonnets and 70 degree temps but lovin' your blog and photography. You make me remember why Texas is so special. Cheers to a happy spring!
