Update on Lucky Dog

I broke the news to the husband last night over the telephone that a stray was at the house. He gave me the "uh huh," "really," and "you didn't feed him did ya?" Well, I HAD to! So I told him the dog was extremely scared and timid so don't mess with him when he came home.

This morning the husband asked me what I planned to do with the dog. My response was feed him, see if anyone comes lookin' for him and if not, take him to the no-kill shelter. The husband looked straight at me and busted out laughing! He said you won't take that dog to the shelter.

I told him there was a reason he showed up at our house. The husband said "yea, he was told to go to the crazy dog lady's house, she'd take care of him." That's not a bad thing, is it? So apparently, according to the husband, there is an underground dog society that helps strays find the crazy dog people.

This morning I found him curled up with Miss Kitty. I gave him a treat and headed to work. This afternoon he seemed really happy to see me. I tried taking his picture but he is scared of the camera. He cowards down and runs off anytime I bring it up to my face or press the button. I wonder if it reminds him of a gun or something? But I did get this one....

Lucky Dog

He seems to be a very sweet dog. Doesn't quite know what to think of Diesel though. Diesel soooooooo wants to play with him. I tell him to be gentle with Lucky Dog cause he's fragile. But the word fragile is not in Diesel's vocabulary. We'll need to work on that.

You and Hubby sound so much like me and hubby! LOL.....I would take in all the strays because I feel so bad for them. I am glad he has found someone with compassion and what's one more family member?

I believe you. Just like me "fostering" a dog for adoption, I am afraid she will never leave here.

I think that he knows which safe place to go to. I kind of hope that you keep him. Maybe add a few cats .....a turtle......who knows.

He is such a sweet looking little guy (well not so little, but you know what I mean) and I'll bet you anything that you end up keeping him.
What's another one, anyway? You've got enough love to go around...

Well of course there's a Dog Underground! You're husband knows you very well and loves you very much. You are both angels for taking that boy in. Not to worry about him n Diesel. Lucky just doesn't know HOW to play ..yet!

Guess Lucky Dog will be his new name! I'm wondering if he got lost from people travelling through; we could have a lot of fun making up a story for him. Any idea what breed he is?

I'd put him at a lab/pit (from some of the orginal photo's of him) mix. It's a shame that there are people out there who do not so nice things to their pets. I bet he's been running long enough that he's kinda forgotten that not all people are bad.

Like you I can hardly say no to a sad face or a sorry story. I hope no one comes for him either- it seems like his spirit needs healing and you are just the crazy dog girl to do it!

He is a real Lucky Dog, yes he must have known the way to the crazy dog ladies house! Sometimes animals just know where it is safe:)

He is such a cute dog.
We are like you too. It is hard to resist a cute face. It breaks my heart to see animals abused and neglected.
If you keep him, he will have an excellent home!!

Oh, that made me laugh. I can just picture your husband laughing at the thought of you taking that dog to a no kill shelter. Wade would have done the same thing. Our men know us :)
What a sweet dog though. I think he's staying with you :)

Lucky Lucky.. he's come to the right place. Sounds as if the poor thing has been beaten and will need medical care.
