My Workout for the Day

I went to the feed store this morning and bought a month's worth of grub for the yearlings and bulls. It's time we start feeding them to make them big and strong!

Last night, as we lay in bed, the husband specifically said, "Wife, do NOT unload that feed." I, of course, responded, "uh huh." He knew I would.

I unloaded and stacked it so pretty. Over a ton! Actually 2850 lbs to be exact!

And I did it in less than 15 minutes. (It took three boys and a forklift at the feed store! Wusses!)

Maybe I'm not in as bad of shape then I thought?

That kills me when I go to the feed store and I grab a bag of feed and heft it over my shoulder and all the guys are like "OMG!! I'll get that!!" like I am going to break in two or something. Hahahah you think living in the country they would know a thing or two about the country girls.

I am woman hear me roar!!
Why do we do such things especially after our husbands tell us not to. To prove to them we are not meek little wives? I've done that too. I love the power of accomplishment!
How is your back today? LOL!

I'd do that too. But, I am afraid I would pay for it tomorrow!

Thats amazing! You go girl! I have to get hay tomorrow but I'm pretty useless for unloading the 115 pound bales... pushing it to the back of the truck bed is about all I can handle! Have a great weekend!

I just love a strong gal. The husband is gone again so I get to get all the wood and feed all the critters. So What do I do with TLC. Strap him to my back and get to it. (I do feel like a bit of a pack mule at times.) By the way Vaquero Girl is also freakishly strong.

I would have done the same. And then posted from my hospital bed..lol!

Who needs to go to the gym? Kind of a waste of time to pay for a gym membership, when you can just unload bags like that!
Hey... you could offer your own gym memberships.. We could all come and stay with you for a month, do all sorts of farm chores and then go back home, fit as fiddles.
Or crippled.

Ya done good girl! I don't think I could have done it...well maybe, it just wouldn't have looked as purdy and straight as yours! My stacks would have been really low LOL...

Wow, I could probably take some getting into shape tips from you!!

I know I couldn't have lifted even one of those sacs of food. I think you need to share what multivitamin you take!!!

Have a great weekend!

Id like to know how you get the deal where he tells you NOT to do the work. Mine never does that.

But I am tricky-like---I have the horse feed delivered, so no hefting it about except for at feeding time, and then it is only 25 pounds in a bucket at a time. I do have to get the Senior from the elevator, and I end up wagging that around. I can carry two bags at a time

I may be fat, but there is a lot of muscle in here too!

I mow the lawns, and unloaded the hay! lol! Silly Cowboys. We are irreplaceable! There is nothing we can't do! Let us unite, girlpowe...eeeEEEEee a spider...

Girl power rocks!

I do the same things, always have. Did it up until the time I was 8 months pregnant. I guess it is natural to me, something I do all the time, I'm a girl but not a wuss. Feed store boys want to look like they can move feed, I guarantee you we can out work them! Hubby tells me sometimes what and i'll help, plz.. I'll wind up doing it!
You go girl! Gym who needs a gym when you have horses and cows!!!

Today I went to the ranch and they had busted a pallet of chafhaye. Did I help restack it? NOooooooooooo! Hubby gets mad when I won't help feed, yet I'll get in the saddle! LOL Why is he crying? I feed when he's not home, which is tomorrow by the way!

When I come back from the feed store.....I always hope someone is around to help me unload. Usually not...but I look just the same. Now unloading hay wagons is a totally different story. I love putting up hay.

Up until a few years ago those big bags were not problem. I haven't had any reason to move a bag like that in a while and would probably hurt. Gotta get my country girl skills back!

When I was growing up, I was the one that carried the hog feed sacks from the house to the barn. Lord I was ripped. (This was when I was like 12)

Now? I feel proud to carry one bag of chicken feed. Ugh.
