My Newest Accessory

I just love being me because I never know how I'm going to hurt myself next. It's always a surprise! Late Saturday evening, I told the husband my wrist was hurting. Had no idea what from, nothing out of the ordinary had happened. It hurt all night and worse on Sunday. I had finally broke down and wrapped it Sunday evening so I could help move the cattle around, muck out Priss' stall and feed.

On Monday, it was still hurting. I broke down and made an appointment with the doctor. I never go to the doctor. Okay, once a year, but that is only because I have to. So I went and she told me I have tendinitis in my wrist. What? Tendinitis? I don't play tennis....don't tennis players get that in their elbow?

She said it should go away in about 2 weeks but if it changes in any way to let her know. I am to wear a brace to immobilize the joint and take 4 advil three or four times a day. Man, getting stepped on by a horse didn't cause this much grief! Of course, the husband didn't believe the doctor made the correct diagnosis. He said he knew he should have taken me to the vet! Oh my goodness gracious.

So I got my brace and went back to work. I was so embarrassed I parked in the back and snuck up the back stairs. I don't even have a good story to tell if someone asks me why I'm wearing a brace. The best I have come up with is, "just cause I'm a tard."

I need your help....give me a good story to tell! I have faith that someone out there will come up with something better than I. I will be patiently waiting, hiding in my office........

Well Hello! Look at the size of that rock you have to pack around!! 5 carats will do that after awhile!LOL!!
Tell them you are undergoing a very hush, hush, procedure. Similar to what the bionic women had done!Better yet don't tell them anything, you know how people are. Pretty soon it will be going around how you saved that little old lady from the runaway train!
I hope it get's better soon, you will need both of your hands to pull yourself up on the fence!

HAHA should have take you to the vet.

Just say "Oh..snowboarding..."

and walk away...see how long it takes them to ask where you were snowboarding in august.

"Tragedy" in the cattle pen might work. I'm not sure that the vet might have been able to help though.

Oh girl! *I agree nice ring* Now back to your wrist! About 6 months ago I got tennis elbow real bad, never played tennis a day in my life! Dr. said it was from riding and straining it. Needed to stop riding for awhile, yeah right! They were pushing me for surgery, it didn't hurt that bad so I opted to put on a brace when I rode and took Aleve. It finally cleared up, so hoping that happens for you as well! But I did feel like a ree ree (aka retard~!) with the brace on as well!
I will be adding you to my blogs I like to visit!
BTW-are you all coming to our Women's Ranch Rodeo in September?

Thanks for all the ideas. I think I will use them all. Change the story everytime someone new asks me about it!

TW and kdwhorses- my husband had that ring made for me. He did really well. It has our brand on both sides of the stone and scroll work around the rest of the band. I love it!

And yes, I will be at the ranch rodeo!

My sister got tendinitis in the hand/wrist from too much typing on a keyboard without enough wrist support on the mouse mat.

So, just tell everyone that it is your devotion to blogging for all your fans (oops! readers) that has caused the problem...

Hi just found you through Cowboys & Sunsets. Love your blog. I like the snowboarding idea... just to see what they would say about it. :) I too am a bit of a clutz, but my oldest daughter is even more, so she takes the spotlight off of me.

I know I'm too late to give you an excuse, but I had to wear one of those wonderful braces. One of our goats smashed my hand between her and the trailer gate. I thought I broke it, but it was just a chip!
