Donkey Update

Donkey is settling in well at the house.  He cons the husband into giving him a few hand fulls of feed every morning.  And a quick scratch behind the ears too I bet!  Every evening I grain him and work on his boo boos.  They are looking so much better even just after a few days of doctoring.

Check out his eye.  Muchos better.

And can I just say I'm so proud of myself.  See, I don't like blood, pus, nastiness.  Makes me gag.  Well, blood makes me light headed.  But I have been handling it all without any problems.  Been pickin', cuttin', wipin' and scrapin' like nobody's business.  I always wanted to be a vet but I knew my low tolerance for bodily fluids would cause a major issue.  So I'm just happy I can doctor my own animals without waking up on the barn floor!

Good job, especially all things considered. I'm not much of nurse either but I'm not too bad with Vet Wrap.

Amazing what you can overcome when you have a purpose. The wound looks like it's healing nicely. Lucky donkey to end up at the Crazy M!

you're doing an excellent job! I always wanted to be a vet too. My deal is the first time they do something I get queezy... cutting into a ewe for a c-section, running a tube up my geldings nose, etc. After the first time I'm better :) But you are doing an great job with the donkey!!
