Beatin' the Spring Heat

It's gettin' pretty warm around here.  Gonna be in the 90s this week!!  Yowsers.  So I thought I better get Diesel a pool.  Really, it's not for the heat, he just likes playing in the water.  He's constantly splashing the water out of the water tubs.

So I got one of the water tubs out of Mojo's pen.  We've used this one for the dogs in the summer before.  Can you tell what it is?  Bottom of an old liquid feeder.  Yea, we recycle.  But I didn't clean it out very well.  Sprayed it but didn't scrub the green off.

Diesel was intrigued to begin with.

He couldn't wait to get in.  But then I realized, he's bigger than I thought.  Not a lot of room in there to play.

Finally got it filled with water.  He loves to splash.

And splash...

Then he decided to get the front end in the pool.

And he continued with the splashing!

I'm thinkin' I may need to buy him a kiddie pool.  He's a growing boy and by the middle of summer, his front paws may be the only thing that fits!

How cute! My dog loves water too, take her to the beach and she wont stop until she passes out!

We have a stock tank as a Koi Pond, but I think I might have to get another one for a dog pool!

Dogs and water, we have a small dugout by the house and our collies are always running in it to get wet. Today one of the pups was swimming after a duck. The duck looked pretty unconcerned about the black and white guy following him. The pup on the other hand was getting quite a work out and in the end petered out before the duck, of course. We have a Ducks Unlimited project that runs through our lease (so lots of cool water birds of all kinds) and various cairns with signs that say Duck Factory No. 12 or what ever. Never though I'd live in a Duck Factory.

My lazy dogs just stay indoors and sleep all day when it gets warm.. heck, they sleep all day when it's not warm. Guess I won't make the investment on a pool. LOL

He is getting to be a big boy! How old is he now, and how much bigger will he get? My niece bought a female Mastiff puppy last month.

LOL! Come on mom, doncha think he needs a concrete underground with some tiki torches for nighttime swims? You are getting bikini ready and I think Diesel would have more fun if you and dad got in to play with him! LOL

Kiddie pool, cool. My lab loves the water and we are lucky enough to have a pond about 500 yards away that we can take him too if the weather gets too hot! You enjoy that weather for me too!

I love it! Yeah the kiddie pools aren't all that expensive. Heck if he's anything like my llama though, he'll get in no matter if there's room or not. (I so wish I had a picture of that!)

I am pleased to see you have a structured environment for all your working animals and never spoil them.

Kidding, that is so cool.
