I don't always feel like eating right or running that last mile. I workout alone so I have to use a lot of self talk to get thru some of my weak moments. On a recent long run, I wanted to give up at 2.5 miles. I was tired and my motivation was lacking. But my goal was to run over 5 miles in an hour and I really wanted to reach it.
That evil voice was saying, "Go ahead and quit early. You can do it on another day."
The good voice was saying, "You're just tired. Nothing is physically wrong with ya. Keep pushing yourself."
The evil voice, "Why push yourself, maybe you'll feel better tomorrow."
The good voice, "You're worth it. You deserve to be happy with yourself. Keep going."
I listened to the good voice. I kept going even though I was tired and really not feeling the long run that day. But that one statement the good voice said, "You're worth it" really hit home. I AM worth it. I'm worth being healthy. I'm worth being happy with my self image. I'm worth feeling gorgeous. I'm worth feeling proud of my accomplishments.
I know several of y'all are working on health goals. Some are dealing with financial/career issues. Others are working on relationship troubles. I want y'all to know YOU'RE WORTH IT!
So don't listen to that thought that you can't make it an extra mile or you don't deserve that raise/job or even that you should be treated like crap. Don't accept less for yourself. You are worth it.
And because I need a reminder every once in awhile, I ordered some silicone bracelets that say "You're Worth It." I have hot pink and black. I would like to offer them to you as well. Because I think highly of every single one of my blogger peeps. So you're worth it to me.
If you'd like a bracelet, send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I'll mail it to ya. Simple as that!
