Calf Buckin' & Fort Worth, What Could Be Better?!

We had a great anniversary weekend. The husband had gathered some calves on Friday and brought them to the house to wean. There was lots of bawling goin' on! When we wean calves, we also buck them to see if they're gonna be keepers. So we started bright and early Saturday, loaded em up and headed to the arena.

This was the first bunch of the year. There were only six cause we had a lot of late calves. Of the six, three will stay and three will go. One lil heifer stood out above them all that morning. You may remember her, I had the "name that calf contest" on here for her.

Trainwreck will be so proud that the calf she named did so well!

After the calf buckin', we made our way back home. Just in time for lunch and a quick nap. I had made reservations for dinner in Fort Worth that night to celebrate our anniversary. We needed to leave the house between 3-3:30p in order to make it. I woke up from my "power" nap at 2:45p! I woke the husband up and told him we needed to get a move on. Still had to take showers and get ready! Luckily, it doesn't take me long and we were out the door by 3:15!

We ate at the Reata in Sundance Square. It was great! If you are ever in downtown Ft. Worth and want a nice dining experience, I highly recommend it. The waitress asked if we were celebrating anything and we told her our anniversary. When she brought out our desserts, they looked like this...

From Reata, we went a few blocks to Hyena's Comedy Club. The comedians were very good. There's nothing like a good laugh! We left the comedy club around 10ish and headed home.

Oh, there was one thing I found interesting at the comedy club. This sign...

Now, I have seen many a bull ball in my lifetime, but never a purple one!

Honestly....a purple one or two would be so disturbing. But if you ever do see one (or two) and happen to take a picture.....well curiosity gets me ever time....I would have to take a peek.

Dang girl that heifer can buck!! She almost went butt over head!! And your anniversary dinner sounded wonderful. If I could move to the Ft. Worth area I would. I LOVE it up there. I went up there about a year and a half ago to have my mare bred and fell in love. I wouldn't want to live in Ft. Worth but close enough to it that I could visit. And there are so many nice farms around there. Sigh........
