Crazy M Photography...That's ME!

So how did my table do at the sale barn? Well, let's just say, men don't buy pictures to hang on the walls! LOL! It was worth a shot though, right?! We did sell one print to the lady that runs the cafe. She's a friend of ours and bought one of the husband. Went straight back into the cafe and hung it on the wall!

I took my lunch hour to run over and sit with the husband. Had a guy look at the prints. He was just amazed I took them. Kept asking, "you took these? You took all these? Really?" Geez! I know I may not look like I have talent but come on!

Anyhow, let me tell you what the husband did the day before all this (without my knowing). He loaded up all my prints (framed and unframed) and went all over town to various stores showing them off. Can you believe that he sold 11 to two stores? I have TWO stores carrying my photographs. One even told the husband not to go anywhere else cause she wanted her store to be the only one around with them! The other store said they thought they were going to sell very well. And if they did, then they would give me an ENTIRE display! HOLY COW!

Then people starting asking if I would do weddings and family portraits. The husband said he would have to check with me. I told him no way, that's too much pressure. So he tells people I don't do "posed" photography. I will, however, come out and spend time with you while you are working with your horse or playing with your kids and take your picture.

So how cool is that! Plus I have a shop in the Panhandle that I plan to sell in, I am getting a booth at the local craft gallery and I'm thinking about having a booth at a huge barrel racing come September. I think I better get out and start taking some new pics!!

My husband is the greatest, huh! He believes in me and makes my dreams come true. I'm a lucky girl.

Wow darlin', you have a GOOD man there! :) He is helping make your dream a reality. It must be so great to have that support. Now- you need to believe in yourself and your talent and go out there and take some new pics, because they're gonna be flyin' off those shelves!!

Congratulations. You are a real artist with that camera and I am not a bit surprised that you are doing well.

Am I surprised? Not on your life, honey! You're GOOD, and you do have an eye for what makes a picture.
And as far as your man goes... With that kind of heart and belief in you and your talent (hey, he's not the only one) AND the fact that he looks so damn good in his Wranglers, besides...
*sigh*
You're one lucky woman!

Lucky you to have such a good husband.

You are very good. You have a natural eye for things.
You should get that right angle scope lens for taking pictures of people so they don't pose.

Weddings aren't for everyone so I can totally see turning that down.
I say go for it on the family pics though.
Congrats on getting your work out there-it really is fabulous!

That is just awesome, fabulous husband you have. I feel the same about mine, he let me go and buy over 400 dollars in yarns to start weaving my kitchen towel to sell.

You go, girl!! Hubby is a good one - hang on to him!!! Mine does the same kind of things for me. I would love to find some places locally for my photos and maybe some of my jewelry. Now you've inspired me!

GREAT!!!!!!! You took the leap and look at how well you've started out! Congrats!!!!! I've thought of doing this so many times, but so worried about a waste of money on my end for my troubles and then not selling....keep up the great work and keep us informed on your progress...maybe I'll get the guts to take the leap myself

That is awesome! And here is something cool--you know I am trying to figure out somewhere to put your photography--Barry is renting an apartment in suburban chicago this week, and it has lots of blank walls! So I am going to try to get him to look at your offerings, and order up some stuff!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

You can spin the Wedding / Family portraiture question by saying that you do them...but only as candids. My cousin is a pro photog in Nevada and she said that lots of people are going for candid packages instead of staged packages these days.

WTG!!! sounds like you have a great salesman there. Congrats on the pics, I found it just takes a bit of time..:-)

You deserve this Sweetie! You have mad skills and your Hubby knows that sometimes all it takes to realize a dream is someone helping from the corner. He was a professional- he be known' stuff!

Anyway, have you ever thought about selling your photos to magazines? It is very lucrative, especially if you get 'in' with one of the glossys like 'Cowboys and Indians', or' Horse and Rider'. If you want more info on how to go about doing that, drop me a line!
Good luck with your growing enterprise!
