We headed out early in the morning to gather the cows and calves. (Can I just say, I never knew how hard it was to lope on a horse thru mesquite trees trying to take a picture.)
Once we got them up in the pens and sorted, the work really began.
Once we got them up in the pens and sorted, the work really began.
We have several ropers horseback draggin' 'em to the fire.
Where they get stretched out, branded, ear tagged, and vaccinated.
This lil darling didn't seem to be enjoyin' the festivities.
And I thought this one was gonna lick that cig right out of Dean's mouth.
Look at Bullet. He was overseeing the entire event.
And lastly, here's the group picture after everything was done. Quite a group of cowboys and cowgirls.

Boy does your post bring back some good memories of when we were younger. Years ago in another life my husband used to cowboy for extra money(he is a PA now) I sure wish I had pictures from those days. Yours are fantastic.

OMG... I wish I could have been there! I would have taken pics while you got to get out there and get all dirty!
It's stuff like this that makes me wonder WHY in the heck I'm rastling kids and dirty diapers for a living!
My co-workers aren't near as cute as these guys, and the butts aren't as nice either.
Great looking crew and a good days work , back when we had a bigger herd (200 pairs) we could have used a crew like that! All we have now is 24 those boys would barely break a sweat!
Did you take your big camera (DSLR) out there while riding? I haven't figured out how to do that yet, LOL! :)
How fun! Boy do I wish I lived someplace like that. Maybe I should move. Not much for cowboy country around here.
What a blast! That last picture is great!! What a fun time!
I might agree that the calf wasn't liking that :) What a crew!! Lots of hard work!! Good job juggling the camera!
Fantastic shots, I wish I could live what you are living. Don't get me wrong, I love my life but I plan on doing what you are doing in my next life!!
Looks like a wonderful morning! Your blog posts are so refreshing :)
Great group of shots.
Of course I particualarly love Bullet. What a muscualer little body on that Jack....Clarice would be in looooove.
Taking pictures or videos horseback is a talent in it's self! LOL!

You were blessed to have such wonderful cowboys/girls to help get the job done!
And thanks so much for the eye candy! Yum-O!
Always refreshing to see strong men workin' hard. :)
Oh My God! I have to say that your blog (for me) is a lot like Porn. I just love a man in a cowboy hat doin some hard work, or better yet ridin a horse. Mmmmm. I also love love love the flaming brand picture.
love the branding picture too.....but the thought of it makes my skin crawl.......OUCH!!!!!!
but a very cool picture!!!!!!
Awesome picture of the line-up! You don't get to see one of those very often anymore! Very neat!
Great pics! I love this time of year when all the ranches have their work days. Hubby went to one where they hired a chuck wagon and he got two great meals! I never thought of doing a group pic with everyone. Maybe next time I'll do that!
What great pics!!!
This was a great post, I really enjoyed it! Thanks for taking us along! :)
