I had the husband and dogs go with me to take this. They looked at me like I was crazy, squatin' out on the highway but I had a concept in my head. It turned out okay. I call it the Lonely Highway.
Then I found this picture from last year. Sunflowers are so bright and cheery. A total opposite of the above picture. This pic just makes me happy. Hope it does the same for you.

Love them both!! Great concept with the first one. Happy is a perfect word for the sunflower!
Both are great pictures, but the sunflower is my favorite.
Oh wow. Great job! Love that sunflower shot. I like how you post processed these. Fun!
Both great submissions! Love them!
Great Pics! how did you do the first one?
Love 'em! very cool!
Wow both are great! Love the popping colors from the second photo!!!
like them both......but LOVE me some black and white!!!!!!
very nice, love the first one..:-)
How did you get a black and white with a bright yellow stripe? We own a construction company that does highway striping and I love that picture!
As I was driving down the freeway today, I totally thought of those yellow lines for Sunday Stills! :) Not exactly the place to be stopping to take a photo though, LOL! I love the sunflower, so bright and cheery!!
Love both pictures! I see a happy face on the sunflower!!!
Great minds think alike! I posted a very similar photo from a recent road trip. lol!I took mine from behind the steering wheel, though.
I like your sunny flower, too.
Great captures.

Great pics! Great thinking! I love them both! Sunflower really made me smile, so pleasant & beautiful :)
Now that is yellow! Nice!
Love you take for the "lonely road"!! That is great, very neat picture!! And the Sunflower is gorgeous!!
Really nice! Never thought to use colour isolation for this challenge, very cool. I particularly like how the sideways lighting on the sunflower brings out the textures, super shot :)
yep the lonely highway worked for me :-)
That was a very good idea on the first picture! The second one was very nice.
Very nice! Sunflowers always make me smile.
Love the cheery happy sunflower. Both shots are great.
you might have had trouble keeping up with sunday stills
but you definitely don't disappoint!
these are absolutly gorgeous x
I love them!!! WOW the color is so vivid! Great Job!
great photos! I love that sunflower!
Good shot - well worth the effort!
I actually like the road picture - it makes me think of the open road, the possibilities, the adventure that awaits!
The photo was worth it...and my guy wouldn't have pulled over;-)
Love the lines on the highway and the color in the sunflower photo is great.
Good thing it was a lonely highway, or we might be less one Sunday Stills photographer! Nice shots!
I really like the way you told the previous post's story with photographs. Very fun!
I loved the lonely road one the best. The sunflower IS beautiful, but the beauty comes from the flower itself ( and yes, the talent of the photographer) but the lonely road one is so evocative, that it makes my heart just ache!
Btw... I got my print in the mail on Friday, and I ran straight out to get it framed!!! I LOVE it!!! I'll send a pic when it's done. :-)
Wow, I was very impressed with the first photo! It is indeed lonely..but darn that Sunflower is certainly sunny..so it is my favorite! :)
I love what you did with the road, I looked at doing that too. The sunflower is just so........sunny:)
Nice job, like that sunflower shot.
Great job capturing the yellow lines! I could see the top of the sunflower photo poking up from bottom on my screen when the page loaded, and was itching to scroll down...so bright and happy!!!
OK, call me crazy, but as soon as I saw the road with bright yellow lines, I immediately thought of the song, "Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road"
by Elton John and Bernie Taupin.
I've spent a lot of time looking at yellow stripes on the road this week, and let me tell you, yours are much cooler :)
Love 'em!! Awesome yellow lines!! What a fun picture!! Great shots! I love your sunflower picture too, it almost doesn't look real. Like it could be put on the end of one of those old peach wood boxes. You know, the old tin sign type of pictures.....
The lonely highway is truly evocative! Love it.
The black/white/yellow is a fun effect - I need to learn how to do that. Just love sunflowers - thank you for posting one!
Simply wonderful! Love the sunflower!
