Family Photos

The husband and I had the bright idea of taking a "family" photo for Christmas cards. For the picture, our family was going to include the husband, myself and our four dogs. We figured that would be enough of a hassle not to include the horses, donkeys, cat or cattle!

I put the camera on the tripod and set the timer. Then ran back and forth between takes. Here are some of the out-takes!

As you can see from most of the pictures, Duke was the major problem throughout the photo shoot! By looking at him, you would never guess that he just turned one. He's still a pup and doesn't quite like to sit where you tell him to. And when you try to move him, he thinks you're playing and takes off. It tested the husband's patience but since we did it on my birthday, he stayed out there longer than he normally would have. And we did get ONE good picture. You'll have to wait for the card to see it!

That is so funny! We tired a family picture one time with two dogs, a cat and my now husband. Didn't turn out the greatest, but we did get one to send. The cat was so angry he glared at the camera. The husband was mad and glared at the camera. I was the only one happy!

Rotfl, oh girl. I'm having flashbacks from ours. I couldn't get a single one I liked. I'm going to have to do like you and set the timer. Your husband has the patience of a saint, lol. Mine did not, lol.

Hey, you have flowers over at my place! Come get them!

That's great! I can't decide which one I like the best... I think the one where it looks like everything finaly worked out and then you relize the dog is scratching himself. I think you should send that one out anyway.
Did you take these with your NEW camera?

Just found your blog courtesy of Mikey, the Horseshoeing Housewife. Great minds think alike, because this weekend was our Christmas photo shoot also, only just the horses. Check out the foolishness.

Oh they are all cute!! #3 would have been my choice!
Would have been more fun had you included the WHOLE lot of you! You'd still be out there tryin' for that perfect shot!
Can't wait to see how the one you did choose turned out!

The first time I went through I didn't notice Duke's feet. That is so funny!

Oh goodness, those are FUN! Photographing w/animals can be a challenge. Actually, I think the random, unplanned, quirky photos often make the best family photos!
