Trials & Tribulations of Family Photography

The husband thought it would be good to take the kids picture in front of the fall decorations out at the end of the drive. I don't think he realized what a chore this would entail. But he soon came to realize it was a daunting task.

Okay, let's round up the kids and get them ready for their close up.

Everyone wants in dad's lap!
Zena makes a run for it!

What's this....someone wanted in mom's lap while picture taking was going on! It's hard enough to take pictures while hysterically laughing much less with one of the subjects in your lap!

Poor Hubby, he looks a little defeated. Everyone but Duke has run off. Ahhh, he's making a break for it now.
Okay, we've regrouped. They are back....

Well two of them stayed. Got to keep a hold of 'em to get the shot taken.

Oh look, we managed to get one with all of 'em. Zena doesn't look none too happy about it though! What a time that was! Can't wait for the Christmas picture.

What great pics! We had the same problem with our Christmas card last year. With the dogs and the horses! It was chaos.

Hey I think you made out pretty good. At least all your kids are happy and smiling, instead of balling their heads off! lo

I've been reading through your blog and love reading about your photography class adventures and seeing your pictures. I'm learning photography too, and debating over signing up for a class or not. Not sure where I want to take this passion of mine! Thanks for sharing your blog!

If at first you don't succeed......
Great shots, kind of reminds me of taking our family [ humans ] portrait last summer. Dad kept getting bored, and grinning, Mom forgot to stay put, and BIL could not be convinced to come at all. Of course it was super hot, over 35 C. And my mom wanted us to all wear white. The photos did eventually turn out. But I don't think that it is ever going to be a favorite family memory.

Okay, you got me. Harley wants no part of being around the dogs cause he's "human" don't ya know. He was there, just running around outside the picture.

Great pictures - and the one with them all in is just too cute!

As they say in showbiz: Never work with animals or kids...

love the wordless wed. shot!! Lovely fall decorations until the critters got a hold of them! You are doing great with your photography class...leading lines very nice...archiving is boring but necessary - easier said than done!

At least you got something decent--if we tried all three dogs, there would be a fight!
