It's Sat. night I'm sitting at home, hubby is out playing a gig (part-time musician). Just when I think I'm the freak, the unsocial turd I read this and other cool blog friends that are the same. I would rather be hanging with the critters, drinking a little vino (maybe) or not. I never want that crowd thing. It was just nice to know I'm an oddball too and I'll stop beating myself up for it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4093877492214179862.post-81248047435114897372010-04-09T22:34:12.914-05:002010-04-09T22:34:12.914-05:00What a sweet husband! Yeah I stick out like a sore thumb too, all my friends have been city kids whether my small town of 12,000 where I grew up or when I went to college... no one knows about Cutting horses (not even some horse people) and showing sheep (FFA project) yeah that was foreign to them too. Most of them while I was out helping haul hay or something were enjoying the inside life... I stick out too and I'd rather make sure that everyone is taken care of at home first (although sometimes it is nice to go out) and making plans, yeah that's not easy either!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4093877492214179862.post-40319198571556626102010-04-09T10:02:29.410-05:002010-04-09T10:02:29.410-05:00When I went back east for a wedding a few years ag...When I went back east for a wedding a few years ago - everytime someone asked me what I did for a living, I'd tell them, "We own a farm/cattle ranch." Then I'd get blank stare and "Yeah, but what you do for a living?" Uhhh? That IS what I do?

Then they'd just tell me all about how they couldn't possibly work with their spouse all day, they'd go crazy. A good time to us is spending the day cleaning brush, building fence, haulin' scrap, and playing with our critters, followed by a hot shower, a meal on the grill, and a soft warm bed! If you are an odd ball, then me too and I'm proud of it. I love to be by myself or just with The Paintiff or The Youngun and I LOVE to eat by myself, shop by myself, pretty much just be alone! My hubby is my best friend and we are always together. Since moving back to New York, my friends are few and I would rather be at home with the horses, dogs, cats, cows and the kids and hubby than any where else!
